CFCA Summer Educational 2026 - Hosted by Sinch
June 2–3, 2026
Stockholm, Sweden
Aduna's Andres Burgoa is looking forward to participating in a presentation at the upcoming Communications Fraud Control Association (CFCA) Summer Educational event, hosted by Sinch, in Stockholm, Sweden.
When: 2 June 2026
Presentation: Beyond the Code - How Network APIs Can Remediate OTP Fraud and Redefine Digital Trust
Speakers:
Lee Suker - Head of Authentication and Number Information, Sinch
Mark Harvey - Chief Identity Officer, XConnect
Andres Burgoa - Principal Customer Success Executive, Aduna
The industry's focus on AIT addresses a critical symptom, but it doesn't cure the underlying disease: the inherent vulnerabilities of SMS OTP itself. As long as we rely on passing a simple code over the SMS channel, we remain exposed to sophisticated threats like SIM swapping, message interception, and social engineering that directly target and exploit the end-user.
This presentation will argue that it is time to look beyond patching the existing OTP system and embrace a new generation of security primitives. It will provide a concise and practical overview of how emerging Network APIs (as defined by initiatives like CAMARA) offer a fundamental architectural shift in fraud mitigation.
The session will explore specific, real-world use cases demonstrating how these APIs can:
- Eradicate AIT at its source by providing determistic, code-free authentication methods
- Proactively detect and prevent SIM swap fraud by allowing applications to query network intelligence before completing a sensitive transaction
- Create a more secure and frictionless user experience, moving away from cumbersome codes towards silent, network-based verification
This session will provide a clear, strategic vision for how the industry can leverage direct network intelligence to not only solve the OTP fraud problem but also build a more secure and trusted foundation for the future of digital identity.
